The Armed Security Guard enforces regulations designed to prevent breaches of security; exercises judgment and uses discretion in determining whether the first response should be to intervene directly, to maintain surveillance, or to report the situation to the appropriate authority. Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting security areas. The guard is also required to demonstrate ongoing physical fitness and proficiency with firearms or other special weapons.
