Job summary

Star Pro Security Patrol, Inc. is seeking an Armed Security Officer to safeguard client premises, assets, and personnel. The role requires proficiency with firearms, vigilance, and sound judgment to maintain a safe environment.

The officer will patrol, enforce procedures, deter crime, and respond to emergencies while documenting incidents and coordinating with authorities. A valid Guard Card, Exposed Firearms permit, and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Armed Security Certification: valid Guard Card and Exposed Firearms permit.
• Military service background is highly desirable to enhance duties.
• Driver's License with copy of driving records.
• Level 3A Body Armor, Level 3 Holster, Duty Belt, Handcuffs (equipment) required.
• 2 out of 3 nonlethals (baton, OC spray, taser) highly desired.
• Firearms proficiency and training completion.
• Physical fitness to perform duties and respond to emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making.
• High ethical conduct and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor assigned areas on foot or by vehicle, and respond to alarms.
• Enforce security procedures including access control and visitor screening.
• Deterrence through professional presence and appropriate interventions.
• Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or disturbances.
• Safely handle firearms per policy and law, using as a last resort.
• Document all incidents in detailed reports and logs.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders.

Armed Patrol Officer

PAY RATE: $25/hour

Job Overview

Star Pro Security Patrol, Inc. is seeking a competent and reliable Armed Security Officer to safeguard our client's premises, assets, and personnel. The ideal candidate will be a highly trained individual capable of handling firearms responsibly and exercising sound judgment in potentially dangerous situations. The Armed Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through vigilant surveillance, enforcing security protocols, and responding promptly to any threats or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, both on foot and using vehicles, to ensure the security of the premises. Monitor surveillance equipment and alarms to detect and respond to suspicious activity or breaches.
• Enforce Security Procedures: Implement and enforce security procedures, including access control measures, visitor screening, and identification checks. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Deter Criminal Activity: Act as a visible deterrent to potential criminal activity by maintaining a professional and authoritative presence. Respond assertively to any attempts to breach security or endanger the safety of individuals on the premises.
• Handle Emergencies: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or disturbances. Take appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and property.
• Use of Firearms: Safely and responsibly carry and handle firearms in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Be proficient in the use of firearms and use them only as a last resort in situations where there is an imminent threat to life or property.
• Report Writing: Document all security-related incidents, activities, and observations in detailed reports. Maintain accurate records of patrols, incidents, and any security-related occurrences.
• Collaborate with Authorities: Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and emergency responders as necessary. Provide assistance and support during investigations or legal proceedings.
• Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and clients. Provide assistance and information as needed to ensure a positive and secure experience for all.

Requirements

• Armed Security Certification: Must possess a valid Guard Card and Exposed Firearms permit.
• Must have military service background in to enhance the capability to perform duties confidently and professionally.
• Driver's License: Must possess a current valid Driver's License and are required to submit a copy of your driving records.
• Equipped gears: Level 3A Body Armor (optional), Level 3 Holster, Duty Belt, Handcuffs.
• 2 out of the 3 Nonlethals: Baton, OC Spray, and/or Taser and their certifications are HIGHLY DESIRED.
• Firearms Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in the safe handling and use of firearms. Must have completed firearms training courses and be able to pass regular proficiency assessments.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, walking, and physical exertion. Must be in good physical condition and capable of responding effectively to emergencies.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to assess situations quickly, analyze risks, and take appropriate action to maintain security and safety.
• Ethical Conduct: High level of integrity and ethical conduct. Must adhere to professional standards of conduct and uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or security-related field.
• Additional certifications or training in first aid, CPR, or emergency response.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures governing armed security operations.
