Summary

The Armed Security Guard personnel will be responsible for providing security services at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers location.

Responsibilities

1. Communicate via radio, telephone, and orally according to orders.
2. Interact and escort as required with public and government personnel.
3. Provide access control, traffic control, and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
4. Follow applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment.
5. Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks, as well as package and parcel inspections.
6. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Armed Security Guard certification through DCJS.
3. Active Secret clearance.
4. At least 21 years of age.
5. Certification in the use of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray.
6. Certification in the use of Batons.
7. Minimum of one year experience, preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security organization.
8. Current CPR certification through the American Red Cross.
9. Ability to meet PAT physical agility standards as set forth by the customer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
2. Knowledge of computer software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
