Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid driver's license and Firearm Owner's Identification Card.
• Successfully pass a fingerprint background investigation, physical fitness examination, drug/alcohol screening and mental health evaluation.
• One to three years of security or police officer work.
• Coursework/training in law enforcement/public safety (preferred).
• Must be able to pass a background check for a firearm purchase.
• Credentialed or certified in emergency management (AEM, CEM, TEM or similar) (preferred).
• Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety of students, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain order and assist administration during school operations.
• Enforce laws and district policies on school property and events.
• Provide proactive campus patrols and emergency response when needed.
• Investigate incidents and document findings with accuracy.
• Coordinate with Port Arthur Police Department on security matters.
