Job summary

Allied Universal® in Butner, NC, is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol Driver to protect government locations and assist with security needs. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, verify credentials, and respond to incidents with professional customer service.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, armed guard card preferred, 21+ years old, and a background check.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Armed guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as per federal/state/local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or residents while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas; verify credentials, screen visitors as directed, and report irregularities according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance when appropriate.
• Maintain required reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and handle assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
