Job Title: Armed Security Officer

Location: Columbus, OH

Schedule: 12pm-9pm

Pay: $20.00

Immediate hire and start.

Requirements:

• Current 20-hour OPOTA private security firearms certificate
• Firearm permit
• Own firearm
• Security experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and policies, under SMSSI management.
• Conduct walking, vehicular, golf cart, or bicycle patrols of the building or assigned areas.
• Identify and report security threats, hazards, or emergencies.
• Perform site-specific duties such as customer service, loss prevention, retail security, and other safety roles.
• Write detailed incident reports during shifts, noting unusual activities and resolutions, and contact relevant personnel as needed.
• Know and implement site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.
• Follow all company procedures, maintain acceptable attendance, grooming, and customer service standards.
• Participate in required orientation and training programs.
• Respond to incidents according to Post Orders and Use of Force Policy, complete reports, and notify appropriate parties.
• Support security, customer service, or other functions as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Military experience, college education in security, or related experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of professional experience preferred; security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience highly desired.
• Valid state registration/permit/license, with successful background check and drug test.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles, golf carts, or bicycles if required.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Ability to write effective reports.
• Customer service oriented with de-escalation skills.
• Energetic, initiative-taking, and able to handle multiple priorities.
• Professional, articulate, with good judgment and discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.

Required Certifications / Licenses

• Successful criminal background check.
• Completion of applicable client, SMSSI, or jurisdictional requirements.

Education and Certification

• High school diploma or GED.
• OPOTA Certification.
• Personal Firearm Ownership.
