Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. in Birmingham, AL, is hiring a Field Team Utility Security Officer for the 3rd shift. This mobile, armed security role supports multiple sites, responds to security issues, and protects people, property and assets across a designated region.

Ideal candidates are at least 21, possess a pistol permit, pass armed security training, have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR, and can work nights, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-year armed security experience.
• Alabama Security Officer/Guard License (or ability to obtain and maintain)
• Must pass Armed Security training and possess a valid pistol permit
• Must have a valid, non-expired Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Provide field support at multiple sites as needed, including weekends.
• Maintain situational awareness and demonstrate curiosity about surrounding activity.
• Deliver excellent customer service to employees and visitors.
• Stay calm and make effective decisions during critical or high-stress situations.
• Conduct walking patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify identification and credentials.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Enforce site-specific post orders and security procedures.
• Perform routine tasks: lock/unlock doors, arm/disarm systems, monitor cameras.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents.
