Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners in New York is seeking a Licensed Sr. Security Officer for Samaritan Hospital on FT Nights to provide armed, uniformed security across SPHP campuses and protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, you will assess threats, respond to incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. Five years of armed security or healthcare/security experience are preferred; NYS armed security license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Unexpired NYS Armed Security Guard License with firearms training.
• Minimum of five years armed security guard experience.
• Prefer five years healthcare/hospital security or five years law enforcement.
• Knowledge of NY Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.
• Knowledge of the use-of-force continuum and its application.
• Active police officer certification; obtain NYS Armed Security Guard license within 6 months.
• Pass Trinity Health firearms training/qualification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed, uniformed security presence on SPHP campuses.
• Assess threats, respond to incidents, and mitigate risks to staff, patients and visitors.
• Prepare thorough reports and submit to Lead Security Officer and SPHP leadership.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement based on threat assessment.
• Pick up hours as needed at acute care facilities beyond primary work location.
