Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an Armed Security Officer responsible for patrolling hospital facilities, deterring crime, safeguarding patients, associates, and visitors. The role requires responding to emergency codes, conducting preliminary investigations, and rotating shifts across facilities as needed.

The officer must be able to handle high-stress situations, maintain clear documentation, and comply with uniform and dress code requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of armed security experience (may be substituted by Honorable Military Service).
• Verbal de-escalation training must be completed within 60 days of hire.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform security duties across hospital facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent security patrols of the facilities and grounds as assigned.
• Identify and report trends related to security issues and recommend actions.
• Prepare accurate incident reports with facts, timely submissions, and proper grammar.
• Respond to service requests promptly via multiple communication channels.
• Enforce CHRISTUS Health policies and state laws; manage parking controls as needed.
• Assist clinical/non-clinical staff with patient safety and security concerns.
