Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. in Alabama seeks an Armed Flex Security Officer for the 1st shift (Tues-Sat, 6 AM–2 PM). You monitor access, enforce site policies, and maintain a professional presence to deter incidents.

Responsibilities include handling alarms, logging activities, and delivering excellent customer service to staff and visitors while complying with licensing and training requirements.

Qualifications

Must hold or obtain a valid ASRB License issued by the state of Alabama.
Must have a valid driver’s license from your state of residence.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must pass Armed training and possess a valid pistol permit.
Must pass a background investigation.
Must complete a psychological assessment.
Must pass an annual physical fitness assessment (Navy Standards).
Must pass a medical exam to test vision and hearing (color distinction required).
OC certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to posting; OC carry is mandatory depending on assignment.

Armed Flex Security Officer- 1st Shift

Tues-Sat (6AM to 2PM)

Role: 1st Shift Armed Flex Security Officers ensure a safe environment by monitoring access, enforcing site policies, and assisting staff and visitors. Their visible presence, vigilance, and proactive engagement help deter incidents. Officers respond to emergencies, maintain detailed logs, and must meet all licensing, training, and fitness standards. Professionalism and situational awareness are essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Operations

Monitor access points and verify identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
Enforce security procedures as outlined in Security Post Instructions.
Maintain a professional appearance in a clean and pressed uniform.
Ensure compliance with SEI and Client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking violations).
Respond swiftly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents using established procedures.
Maintain accurate logs detailing activities, incidents, and observations for reporting and analysis.

Customer Service & Professionalism

Provide excellent customer service by assisting and addressing concerns of visitors and employees.
Remain calm, solve problems, and act effectively in critical situations.
Demonstrate a curious nature and strong awareness of surroundings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Skills & Abilities:

Minimum:

Ability to function well in a high-paced and potentially stressful work environment.
Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), if needed.
Strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Basic computer experience and ability to use a tablet for security reports.

Preferred:

Experience with Microsoft Office Productivity Suite.

Physical Requirements:

Strong physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break.
Sit for at least 1 hour without break.

Education & Experience

Minimum:

o Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

o Experience: 4+ years of Unarmed Security experience.

Preferred:

o Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

o Experience: 3+ years of Military, Law Enforcement, or Armed Security experience,

Alabama Security Regulatory Board License, preferred
Prior Certified Law Enforcement Officer Preferred
Able to obtain any & all security certifications/licenses
