Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) in Batavia, NY, seeks an Armed Transportation Officer to ensure detainee safety and secure custody during transport to designated locations. You will operate under strict ethical standards, coordinating with staff and using approved restraints to maintain order and safety.

The role requires readiness to perform duties under challenging conditions, successful background checks, and possession of key licenses including NYS pistol permit, Armed Guard, and CDL

Qualifications

• Must be ready to perform full range of essential duties under harsh conditions.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold NYS pistol permit and NYS Armed Guard License.
• Must have Class A or B CDL license; training provided if selected.

Responsibilities

• Supervise detainee behavior during operation of the detention facility; restrain by force if necessary using restraints.
• Transport detainees to designated locations inter and intrastate.
• Inspect and search detainees, vehicles and areas for contraband.
• Escort detainees using approved restraints per policy and procedure.
• Prepare investigative reports with correct grammar and detail.
• Observe and control visitors and detainees during visits.
