Job summary

Top Guard Security, Inc. is seeking armed and unarmed security guards to cover Norfolk and surrounding areas in Virginia. The firm provides comprehensive security services to industrial, commercial and government clients, with a strong emphasis on officer training and advancement opportunities.

The positions pay $16–$22 per hour and report to an Account Manager. Benefits are offered for full-time staff, with part-time eligibility as well.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to pass a background check as a condition of employment.
• Maintain professional appearance and behavior on site.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work varying shifts.
• Prior security or law enforcement training preferred for some sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional demeanor and customer service expectations at all times.
• Monitor and report incidents, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Follow post orders and safety procedures on site.
• Be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Work weekends and holidays as required.

These positions pay between $16 - $22 an hour

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific Requirements

• Demonstrate professional demeanor at all times, maintaining company expectations for customer service
• Situational decision making; notifications to appropriate personnel as needed
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check as a condition of employment
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
• Must be able to endure cold and hot weather for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
• Occasionally lift or pull up to 50lbs
• Speak audibly, clearly and understandable in order to have information understood or to contact authorities.
• Some weekends and holidays may be required.

Specialized law enforcement, security and/or military experience or training preferred (1 year or more required for some contract sites)
