Job summary

CNA Corporation is seeking a security operations intern to join its on-site program in Arlington, VA. You will monitor alerts, assist with policy development, and support incident response while gaining exposure to CIO, CFO, HR, and other functional teams.

The role emphasizes learning best practices, regulatory compliance, and user education on security. Prior coursework in cybersecurity and strong MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in junior/senior year of bachelor’s or graduate program related to cybersecurity.
• Relevant undergraduate coursework in cybersecurity preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, incidents, and requests via group mailboxes and ticketing systems; provide first-line end-user support.
• Assist in development, review, and maintenance of security policies and procedures (NIST, CMMC, CORA).
• Support incident response activities: documentation, escalation, and coordination with senior analysts.
• Contribute to compliance programs and cross-functional audits to meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Provide excellent customer support by addressing security inquiries and educating users on security best practices.
• Collaborate with CIO team and stakeholders to support organizational security goals.
• Participate in security awareness and training initiatives.
