Job summary

APAC Central Inc., a CRH Company, seeks a Lube Technician / Ground Person to support preventative maintenance and daily plant operations in a hands-on role. You will assist with inspections, lubrication, and housekeeping to keep equipment running reliably in an outdoor, outdoor plant setting.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and pride in quality workmanship while providing growth opportunities in maintenance of conveyors, bearings, and other heavy equipment onsite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
• Problem-solving mindset and teamwork orientation.
• Experience in plant operations or with heavy equipment is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Apply lubricants to conveyor bearings, crushing equipment, and other plant components.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections for leaks, wear, or maintenance needs.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommend servicing or repairs.
• Operate a skid steer and other assigned equipment safely.
• Wash down and maintain plant areas to support safety and production.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and general labor as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and keep a clean, organized work site.

What You’ll Do

• Apply lubricants to conveyor bearings, crushing equipment bearings, and other plant components to help prevent premature wear and support reliable equipment performance.
• Perform thorough visual inspections of equipment and plant areas, including checking for leaks, wear, or other maintenance concerns.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommend additional servicing or repairs when needed.
• Operate a skid steer and other assigned equipment safely and responsibly.
• Wash down and maintain plant areas to support housekeeping, safety, and production standards.
• Assist with plant maintenance tasks, repairs, and general labor as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and team-oriented work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to manage time effectively, complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.
• Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• Previous experience in plant operations, maintenance, lubrication, heavy equipment, aggregates, construction, or industrial work is helpful but not required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
• Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
• Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
• Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
