Job description

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. And for more than 90 years our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

Job Description

Founded by The Allstate Corporation in 2016, Arity is a fully remote data and analytics company focused on improving transportation. We collect and analyze enormous amounts of data, using predictive analytics to build solutions with a single goal in mind: to make transportation smarter, safer and more useful for everyone.

At the heart of that mission are the people that work here—the dreamers, doers and difference-makers that call this place home. As part of that team, your work will showcase both your intelligence and your creativity as you tackle real problems and put your talents towards transforming transportation.

That’s because at Arity, we believe work and life shouldn’t be at odds with one another. After all, we know that your unique qualities give you a unique perspective. We don’t just want you to see yourself here. We want you to be yourself here.

Role Overview:

As a Senior DataOps Developer, you will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud and data operations pipelines in support of our Analytics Data Platform. You will work closely with data governance, data engineering, and analytics teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of analytics services, while developing tools to monitor and maintain the scalability and performance of cloud-based environments and operational processes. Your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and continuous integration will help streamline our operations and enable faster, more reliable delivery of data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and infrastructure solutions for analytics platforms.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable deployment of applications and services.
  • Work with data engineering and analytics teams to optimize data flow, storage, and processing within the cloud.
  • Work with the Data Governance team to support data catalog population and data quality monitoring.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud environments and data services.
  • Automate manual processes for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, application performance, and data pipelines.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new cloud technologies and tools to improve development workflows and data operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with business goals and project requirements.
  • Mentor junior DevOps engineers and promote best practices in cloud technologies, automation, and data operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DataOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud with a focus on analytics services and data pipelines.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex cloud infrastructure and data systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data lake architectures.
  • Experience with data governance tools (Dataplex, DataZone, Informatica, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management.
  • Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and related cloud services.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud DevOps Engineer, etc.).

That’s the day-to-day, now let’s talk about the rest of it. As we mentioned, Arity was founded by The Allstate Corporation. But you’ll be working for—and at—Arity. It’s the best of both worlds. You’ll get access to the full suite of Allstate benefits and work in a fast-paced startup culture. It’s a culture that encourages you to be you.
