Job summary

Chenega Base & Logistics Services, LLC in Ft Rucker, AL seeks an Airport Rescue Fire Fighting Technician (ARFF). You will maintain and repair emergency response vehicles, perform diagnostics, and ensure compliance with ARFF standards and Army manuals. Must execute tasks safely in all conditions.

You will inspect pumps, hydraulic and electrical systems, and vehicle components while documenting maintenance per policy and ensuring readiness for emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience as a medium/heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Valid state driver’s license and Army/government license.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, overhaul, and perform preventive maintenance on fire apparatus and equipment including pumps, valves, drivetrains, and chassis.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle chassis and related systems such as axles, engines, brakes, and suspensions.
  • Inspect and service cabs, vehicle bodies, compartments, and warning systems.
  • Conduct operational checks of charging, starting, lighting, and electronic pump controls.
  • Maintain and inspect fire pumps, foam systems, and on-board water/foam tanks.
  • Inspect aerial ladder and lifting systems and perform maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle computer components and NFPA1910-compliant tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to manuals and Army standards; complete required paperwork.
