Job summary

V2X, Inc. seeks an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Firefighter/Driver Operator for a remote assignment at an ICAO Category 8 airfield, aligned with USAF ARFF SET 4 requirements. You will drive and operate firefighting vehicles, including ARFF apparatus, on a 48 hours on/off schedule.

The role requires extensive on-airfield firefighting experience, DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard certifications, and the ability to pass medical examinations. English proficiency is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must have one-year specialized firefighting experience in fire department or military/industrial setting.
• Certifications must be DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard accredited and meet listed requirements (Airport Firefighter, HazMat Operations, ARFF Driver Operator, Pumper, Mobile Water Supply, National Registry EMT/EMR, CPR).
• Experience in airfield and structural firefighting is required.
• Must be able to pass pre-appointment and periodic medical examinations per DoD 6055.5M.
• Must understand, read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate firefighting vehicles including ARFF apparatus and pumpers.
• Plan and position vehicles considering wind, water sources, hazards, and aircraft location.
• Operate pumps, foam generators, and nozzles for firefighting.
• Perform crash/rescue and firefighting duties for large or complex aircraft.
• Standby duty during refueling/maintenance and during other aircraft operations.
• Direct water and fire suppression through hoses and hydrants.
• Operate or deactivate aircraft-related safety mechanisms.
• Perform structural firefighting duties for various facilities.
• Conduct pre-fire structure surveys for hazards and protection systems.
• Assist in extinguishing fires and maintaining equipment and station facilities.
