Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a Security Supervisor to provide on-shift leadership for all security and safety operations at PPG Paints Arena. This role will supervise security staff, oversee shipping and receiving, and ensure a safe environment for guests, staff, vendors, and clients during the overnight shift.

This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00 - $24.00 and requires a high school diploma with 2-3 years of security experience; supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement preferred.
• Supervisory experience in a security environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate security staff during assigned shifts and events; serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all security matters.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings, assign posts, and communicate event details and expectations to security personnel.
• Assist in coordinating the flow of information from the Security Manager to security staff.
• Maintain files of sign-in sheets for events and ensure all security logs are completed, including time, radio, and key logs and access records.
• Assist with training new security staff on venue policies, procedures, and proper guest interaction.
• Monitor staff performance and provide coaching to maintain professional and service standards.
• Supervise all shipping and receiving items moving throughout the facility; log all items entering and leaving the building.
• Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure proper load-in and load-out procedures are followed.
• Support operations staff during event move-in, event operations, and load-out activities.
• Monitor event activity areas as well as all entrances and exits.
• Perform routine patrols of the facility; lock and unlock doors and access points as required.
• Ensure proper access control procedures are followed for staff, vendors, performers, and guests.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and credentialed areas to prevent unauthorized access.
• Inspect packages, meeting rooms, and other areas for the detection and prevention of violations of criminal law or company policy.
• Monitor and administer proper sign-in/out policies; monitor the security system and report any abnormalities to the Security Manager.
• Maintain accountability for radios, keys, and other security equipment.
• Assist with monitoring of surveillance systems and security equipment when required.
• Prepare and review incident reports for adherence to established standards; take corrective measures when necessary.
• Maintain a high degree of visibility and professionalism; respond to various situations, issues, and requests for assistance.
• Respond promptly to all emergency situations, including disturbances, medical situations, safety hazards, or policy violations.
• Assist in administering the facility's emergency preparedness programs.
• Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and crowd management.
• Become knowledgeable of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in the case of fire, disorder, or other emergencies.
• Assist emergency medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control, and securing needed equipment.
• Observe the general public; provide general information, directions, and assistance to facility guests.
• Report suspicious behavior to the Manager on Duty or Security Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service assistance to all internal and external clients.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, and all parties encountered in the course of work.
