Job summary

The University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi is seeking an Arena Manager to oversee the complete operations of the Sandy and John Black Pavilion, including events, budget monitoring, and supervising facility and event staff to ensure efficient, economical operations.

You will supervise all area operations, coordinate event conversions, maintenance, and safety procedures, and serve as liaison between clients and staff on staffing, power distribution, rigging, and equipment use.

The University of Mississippi is seeking an Arena Manager to manage the complete operations of the Sandy and John Black (SJB) Pavilion to include internal and external events, monitoring the budget and supervising facility and event staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with institutional and organizational policies and conference guidelines.
Oversees all aspects of the area operations including event conversions, building and grounds maintenance, custodial services, building equipment and safety procedures.
Initiates and provides direction in event planning, administering budgets, cost control measures and superior guest services.
Supervises expenditures of capital and operating funds and maintains controls to ensure budget appropriations are not exceeded.
Hires, schedules, supervises and trains conversion crews, maintenance personnel, contract labor sources, event specific crews and custodial service personnel
Serves as liaison between building and clients regarding technical and operational issues such as staffing, power distribution, rigging and equipment use.
Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
