Addus HomeCare is seeking a senior executive to serve as Area Vice President of Operations for Tennessee, guiding clinical and business operations to deliver high-quality end-of-life care across the region.

The role emphasizes planning, budgeting, staffing oversight, regulatory compliance, and staff development. A healthcare management background is essential, with physician or RN experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician, a registered nurse, or an undergraduate degree is required.
• 3–5 years of health care management experience, preferably in home health.
• Proven ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
• Ability to market aggressively and interact tactfully with the community.
• Knowledge of corporate business management.
• Good communication and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate operations to ensure quality care and services.
• Comply with laws and regulations governing operations.
• Maintain staffing levels with qualified personnel.
• Oversee budgeting and fiscal management of operations.
• Implement governing body directives and service policies.
• Supervise and retain staff to ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintain effective communication channels with staff and leadership.
• Ensure staff have current clinical information and that a clinical manager is available during operating hours.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives and staff development.
• Supervise professional and administrative staff and ensure patient care standards.

What You'll Do:

• Planning, directing and evaluating operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
• Complying with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assuring that all business conduct is above minimum standards required by law and will not condone any activities that achieve results through violation of the law, unethical business or patient care practices.
• Fiscal planning, budgeting, and management of operations in accordance with fiscal parameters.
• Implementing governing body directives and ensuring that appropriate service policies are developed and implemented.
• Recruiting, employing, and retaining qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Establishing and maintaining effective channels of communication.
• Ensuring program personnel have current clinical information and current practices and ensuring that a clinical manager is available during all operating hours.
• Directing and monitoring organizational performance improvement activities.
• Ensuring staff development including orientation, in-service education, continuing education, and evaluation of staff.
• Assuring that skilled nursing and other therapeutic services furnished are under the supervision and direction of a physician or a non-physician provider.
• Ensures that a clinical manager is available during all operating hours
• Assuring appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.
• Assuring the development and qualifications for professional services and the assignment of personnel.
• Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
• Appointing a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the administrator.
• Informing the governing body, and staff of current organizational, community, and industry trends.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• A licensed physician, a registered nurse, or holds an undergraduate degree. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Master's Degree in health care or related field is preferred.
• At least three (3) to five (5) years' experience in health care management preferably in home health.
• Demonstrated an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
• Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with the community.
• Knowledge of corporate business management.
• Demonstrates good communications and public relations skills.
