Area Supervisor: Retail Distribution Center
Schedule: 2nd shift: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM

You can help us succeed by becoming an Area Supervisor at Family Dollar's Morehead, Kentucky Distribution Center. In this role, you'll work as a key team member in a fast-paced, high-volume, fully automated retail distribution center. We have multiple shifts that work hard to ensure our retail stores are stocked to serve our customers.

The Area Supervisor is a first-line manager supporting activities in an assigned area (Bulk, Shipping, Receiving, Repack, Forklift). They directly manage up to 40 non-exempt associates, plan, assign, and direct work to their team, and address operational problems to meet production goals. Various shifts are available.

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure the work area is appropriately staffed for the shift, maintaining production, quality, and safety standards.
• Provide orientation, coaching, and training to assigned personnel on department processes and systems. Provide corrective actions as needed.
• Create a team environment through motivation and positive feedback, and active communication.
• Communicate effectively across departments within the DC to achieve daily operational goals.
• Ensure daily housekeeping standards are met.
• Conduct physical inspections of the work area and equipment. Prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment replacement.
• Provide data input for required reporting.

What we need from you:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience in an automated distribution or production environment.
• Familiarity with Radio Frequency and pick-to-light systems is desired.
• Flexibility to work multi-shifts in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite is a plus.
