Northern Lights Locating & Inspections Inc is seeking an AREA SUPERVISOR - LOCATE in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time employee role oversees locating technicians, monitors tickets, calibrates equipment, and ensures safety and efficiency across field operations.

The position requires 75%+ travel, strong troubleshooting, and excellent communication. You will train new locators, manage timecards, and support safety initiatives while maintaining high morale in the field.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is required.
• Willingness to travel 75% or more.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in the locating industry.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a DOT physical certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tickets throughout the day on the Northern Lights portal and adjust to balance volume and efficiency.
• Locate a designated area or where help is needed to regulate volume and maintain customer quality.
• Assist with monthly field and computer audits as directed by the Regional Supervisor.
• Monitor hours through ClockShark daily.
• Read and follow emails and texts, acknowledge and follow up on communications.
• Keep your phone on and be available 24/7 with assistance.
• Supervise locators and handle personnel issues with management/HR assistance.
• Review and approve timecards Sunday evenings via email to the Regional Supervisor.
• Coordinate vacation schedules and support team members with daily issues.
• Maintain morale with locators in the field.
• Locate in areas that need assistance or troubled specific locates.
• Determine working hours of locators to manage ticket volume.
• Assist with shooting difficult locates - schedule and assist with Meet-up.
• Responsible for equipment calibration and documentation of calibration.
• First level - damage/damage reports initial documentation.
• Training new locators.
• Support safety initiatives per company policy

AREA SUPERVISOR - LOCATE

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in locating required and supervisor experience required Reports to: Regional Supervisor Locating Services Direct Reports: Locate Technicians

JOB SUMMARY:

• Monitoring tickets throughout each day on the Northern Lights portal and trading/moving them as needed to accommodate volume and efficiency
• Locate a designated area or where help is needed to regulate volume and maintain customer quality
• Assist with monthly field and computer audits as directed by the Regional Supervisor
• Monitoring hours through Clock Shark each day
• Thoroughly read emails, checking emails/text messages often, acknowledge and follow up on emails that are sent to you
• Keep your phone on you and be available 24/7 with assistance
• Supervise locators / handle personnel issues with assistance from management and HR (as needed)
