General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the Store and the overall operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the Store, supervise Associates, and maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain cleanliness. They also execute and supervise operational processes as needed.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors in all activities.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment. Report any unsafe conditions.
• Secure the building, including control of entrances/exits, EAS device checks, security of the Cash Office, and managing armored carrier pickups and register areas.
• Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
• Ensure customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems and respond to after-hours alarms as needed.

Customer Service:

• Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect.
• Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism. Recognize Associates using company programs.
