General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is part of Store Leadership, responsible for a specific area of the Store and the overall operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and executing company processes.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a secure shopping environment, report unsafe conditions.
• Secure the building, control entrances/exits, check EAS devices, and oversee security systems.
• Ensure clear egress routes and safety of customers, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms as needed.

Customer Service:

• Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect.
• Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize Associates.

Personal and Store Brand:

• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Maintain professional appearance and ensure adherence to Dress Code.
• Keep all areas clean and merchandised to standard, handle daily trash removal.

General Merchandising:

• Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards.
• Receive merchandise, process with urgency, and organize stockrooms.
• Assist in merchandise delivery, back-stock security, and merchandising.
• Reduce loss and ensure compliance with presentation guidelines.
• Manage floor moves, signage, and re-wraps as needed.

Loss Prevention:

• Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a customer service presence, and safeguard confidential information.
• Maintain PVM system, conduct package inspections, and maximize productivity.

Front End Supervision and Operations:

• Ensure front-end standards, manage customer lines, and train Associates on cash register procedures.
• Control breaks, maintain equipment, and ensure merchandise salability.

Fitting Rooms:

• Maintain cleanliness, audit garment tags, and ensure return compliance.

Administrative Duties:

• Conduct cash pulls, bank deposits, and manage payroll and scheduling as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
• Experience in Customer Service and supervision preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, and ability to work evenings/weekends.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to use store equipment, stand/walk extensively, and lift up to 25 lbs (or more for stockroom shifts).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Retail Associates, Stockroom Leads (if applicable).
