General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the Store and the overall operations when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and executing operational processes.

Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors in all tasks.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, manage entrance/exit controls, EAS devices, Cash Office security, and other safety measures.
  • Remove clutter, ensure clear emergency exits, and handle emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards.
  • Manage receiving, processing merchandise, and maintaining stockrooms.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, safeguard merchandise and confidential information, and maintain PVM system.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Ensure front-end standards, manage customer wait times, and train associates.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness, audit tags, and ensure return compliance.
Administrative Duties:
  • Handle cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Competencies:
  • Manage work processes, business acumen, planning, talent building, collaboration, leadership, communication, accountability.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Excellent communication, fluency in English, supervisory experience preferred, familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, availability for evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements/ADA:
  • Ability to operate store equipment, stand/walk extensively, and lift up to 25 lbs (or more for stockroom shifts).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Retail associates and stockroom leads (if applicable).
