Job summary

Rosendin in Houston seeks an Area Superintendent to oversee total project supervision, ensuring staffing, budget and schedule alignment on high-profile electrical projects across the region.

You will coordinate craft activities, manage safety and QA/QC, liaise with engineering, estimating and PM teams, and lead field training programs while delivering results under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of supervisory experience in field construction.
• Combination of education, training and relevant experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise craft activities including methods, manpower, materials and schedule.

• Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
• Assist in resolving construction problems affecting productivity.
• Maintain liaison with unions and resolve jurisdictional issues.
• Monitor safety program adherence and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Material Control, Purchasing and Quality Control for materials and inspections.
• Lead field training programs for crews.
• Monitor QA/QC programs and ensure compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Area Superintendent is responsible for overseeing total project supervision effort to ensure appropriate personnel, budget and schedule are met.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Plan and supervise General Foreman and Foreman on craft activities, including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.

• Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.

• Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and Project Management to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

• Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.

• Maintain communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary.

• Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

• Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.

• Lead in the implementation of all field training programs.

• Closely monitor company QA/QC programs.

• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.

• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

• Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

• Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

• Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

• Minimum of eight years’ supervisory experience in similar facility, construction technology, methods and equipment, tools and work procedures required.

• Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience.

TRAVEL:

• Up to 25-50 %

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

• Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
