Job summary

Dragados is seeking an experienced Area QC Lead to oversee quality control on a major heavy civil project. You will ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards while coordinating with construction teams and subcontractors.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in QC for heavy civil work, a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering background, and relevant certifications. You will mentor staff, manage QC plans, and drive continuous improvement on site.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of QC experience in heavy civil construction
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field or equivalent
• Quality control certifications (e.g., ASQ CQI, ISO 9001) and OSHA 30-hour training

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Area QC Lead to assist managing and overseeing the quality control processes on the Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) project. The Area QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets the project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role will collaborate with the construction team, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the construction process.

Duties:

• Assist with implementing and managing the area-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP).

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Control (QC) for in heavy civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of design and installation processes.
• Education: A degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications:
• Quality Control certifications (e.g., ASQ CQI, ISO 9001).
• OSHA 30‑hour certification or equivalent safety training.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of construction, quality control processes, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Proficiency in quality control software, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
