Position Overview

The Part-Time Area Porter plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and overall appeal of Core Spaces' properties within a designated area. This position is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations teams by ensuring that all common areas, grounds, and facilities are well-maintained, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors.

What You Will Do

Property Maintenance


    • Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of common areas, hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, and other high-traffic areas.
    • Ensure outdoor spaces, including courtyards, parking lots, and walkways, are free of debris, trash, and hazards.
    • Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or basic repairs as directed.


Trash Management


    • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas, including dumpsters and trash chutes.
    • Ensure trash bins are clean, organized, and properly placed.


Support Maintenance and Operations Teams


    • Assist in setting up and breaking down for property events or community activities.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests or tasks assigned by supervisors.
    • Monitor the condition of property amenities and report any issues to the maintenance team.


Resident Relations


    • Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with residents and visitors.
    • Address resident inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.


Compliance and Safety


    • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
    • Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors.


Other


  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • This role will be carried out across multiple property locations.


Ideally, you'll have


  • High School or equivalent education preferred
  • Proficient in simple computer tasks


You'll Crush It If You Have Experience With


  • One year experience in maintenance or a skilled trade
  • Experience in the student housing or multi-family industry
  • Experience supporting multiple properties
