Job summary

TEi Construction Services seeks an Area Manager to lead a designated TEiC area, owning cradle-to-grave project leadership from estimating through closeout. You will prepare and approve area estimates, evaluate RFQs, and drive proposals while building strong relationships with customers and internal sales staff.

You will monitor activities, report to senior leadership, and guide risk mitigation to support strategic goals.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
• 5+ years in field engineering or project management in a related role.
• Strong understanding of project controls and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares area estimates using estimating template; reviews and approves estimates; transitions to proposals.
• Leads RFQ evaluation; decides bid/no-bid based on strategy.
• Submits proposals through internal TEiC processes.
• Builds relationships with new and existing customers; partners with sales staff on strategy.
• Monitors project activities for compliance with procedures and policies.
• Provides project status to senior leadership and recommends corrective actions.

The Area Manager is the operations leader for a designated TEiC area. Within the designated area, the Area Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining area customers, preparing estimates and proposals, and providing cradle to grave project leadership. The Area Manager will report to the Regional Director.

• Prepares estimates utilizing estimating template; reviews all area estimates, approves all area estimates, and facilitates transition of estimates to proposals
• Leads internal RFQ evaluation process and recommends bid or no-bid based on area, region, and company (BPI/TEiC) short- and long-term strategies
• Submits proposals through internal TEiC commercial processes
• Build relationships with new and existing customers based on area, region, and company sales strategy; partners with BPI sales staff and representatives on BPI/TEiC sales strategy
• Monitors TEiC project activities; ensures that project activities comply with company procedures and policies
• Provides project status to senior leadership; communicates challenges and recommends corrective actions in a timely manner
• Leads risk analysis for project issues; recommends solutions that benefit short term and long-term strategies of TEiC
• Leads internal and external review of area projects from sales identification through project close out
• Reviews effectiveness of TEiC project leadership, coaches and mentor's direct reports to facilitate positive change; recommends corrective action, including personnel change, if necessary
• Completes all commercial, operational, and company reporting requirements by assigned date

Requirements

Position Qualifications

• Sound understanding of project controls and project risk management tools
• Technical knowledge of power plants and power equipment
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; capable of adjusting priorities

Education And Experience

• Preferred B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering
• 5 plus years in field engineering, project management, or related experience
