Job summary

Green Dot Public Schools is seeking an Area Operations and Finance Manager to oversee operations and budgeting for a portfolio of Los Angeles–area schools. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration with principals, Home Office, and finance teams.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in a fast‑paced analytics environment, strong financial acumen, and experience managing others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• 4+ years in a fast-paced, highly analytical environment (2–3 years in school operations with charter-school experience preferred).
• 2+ years of experience managing others.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Experience designing and facilitating differentiated professional development sessions.
• Ability to build collaborative, coordinated relationships.
• Ability to influence stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
• Flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational and fiscal functions for assigned schools (enrollment, nutrition, facilities, security, IT, financial operations).
• Provide supervision, coaching, and development to School Operations Managers.
• Lead opening/closing operational readiness for school years.
• Develop and monitor school budgets; conduct financial analyses; monthly forecast updates.
• Collaborate with Finance for strategic resource use and restricted funds oversight.
• Strengthen procurement processes and vendor management for cost savings.
• Analyze operational and financial data to inform decisions at school and network levels.
• Support ADA strategy implementation and attendance priorities.
