To provide administrative support, enabling the Young Life field ministry area office to function an organised and efficient manner.
Education: High school education or its equivalent. Associates degree preferred. Ongoing education encouraged.
Experience Required For The Job: Previous administrative assistant experience preferred. Ability to type 55 to 60 words per minute with few errors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and processes with the capability of handling concurrent tasks and constant interruptions. Good grammar skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic accounting skills. Detail oriented multi-tasking ability. Proven relational skills with both kids and adults. Initiative with developing processes/systems around events – data organization and maintenance. Great customer service skills.
Job Specific Working Conditions:Everett/Mill Creek Young Life is looking for an Area Administrator who can provide the organization, communication, and support needed to help the area grow. This position is approximately 10–15 hours per week, with some variation throughout the year. Hours will increase during special events and busier seasons and decrease during calmer seasons. For a candidate looking for more hours, there is potential for this position to serve multiple Young Life areas and grow to 30–40 hours per week. Much of the work can be done either in person or remotely, though some local ministry presence and occasional in‑person work are preferred.The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with a heart for service who is organized, dependable, and takes pride in high‑quality work. This person should be comfortable managing a variety of projects, working independently, and communicating with a wide range of people. They should also feel comfortable interacting with and speaking to both adults and students in a variety of situations—from contacting donors and communicating with parents to welcoming students and helping send a group of students off to camp.Everett/Mill Creek Young Life is in the process of expanding our area to include the Mukilteo School District alongside the Everett School District. The area has active Young Life (high school) and WyldLife (middle school) ministries, and a thriving YoungLives ministry to teen parents and a Capernaum ministry to our friends with disabilities. Our school districts are a mix of suburban and urban communities and have considerable socioeconomic and ethnic diversity. Currently, the area has an Area Director, a YoungLives Director, and a part‑time High School Director.Our vision is for every young person in our area to have the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus through a trusted adult in their community.The Area Administrator will work closely with our Area Director to provide the structure necessary for this ministry to flourish and thrive.
In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States. The anticipated hourly rate for this position can range from $17.50-$18.43.
