We are now seeking an experienced Area Manager for our Packaging and Hygiene Solutions team in the Midwest District for the North Region in the United States. This position involves managing a team of sales representatives, setting sales targets, developing sales strategies, and ensuring the effective implementation of sales plans to achieve business objectives. This is a remote role preferably in the eastern Pennsylvania area.

What you will be responsible for
  • New Business Development: Drive strategically important GM$ growth objectives as laid out in the regional and district strategic plans. Assist in finding opportunities to sell services as part of the commercialization process.
  • Innovation and leading-edge technology: Work with the sales teams to ensure the best profitable and most innovative technologies are being applied at all customers. Build a culture of innovation.
  • Sales Performance: Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to achieve sales targets.
  • Assisting the district manager to ensure client interface is highly professional, innovative and uses best practices.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure sales performance against customer expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve designated sales objectives, providing guidance, coaching and performance management. Include personnel and administrative tasks such as hiring, performance management, career development discussions, salary administration, and expense review/approval.
  • Promote and comply with federal, state, corporate and customer health, safety and environmental policies including training and accident/incident reporting.

What you’ll bring to the team
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent field experience in paper science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or chemical engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in the paper industry.
  • Ability to develop Key Account or Project Plans and execute with discipline.
  • Ability to apply tactical efforts toward Kemira and its customers’ strategic goals.
  • Strong emphasis on documenting ROI of new and existing business.
  • Ability to develop “trust-based” relationships with key buyers.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
  • Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Travel by car or air up to 80%, typically 40-60%.
