Job summary

Stake Center Locating is seeking an Area Manager, Locate to lead field operations in the locating industry. You will supervise Locate Supervisors, oversee workload distribution, manage vehicle and equipment inspections, and mentor staff.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of underground utilities, with travel and overtime as needed. You will handle customer relations, interpret reports (PDR, audits), assist in difficult locate jobs, and

Qualifications

• Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement.
• Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing.
• Requires long hours when necessary. May require weekend and holiday work.
• Some travel may be required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and/or training.

The Area Manager, Locate will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Supervision of Locate Supervisors .

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
