Job summary

Stake Center Locating, Inc. is seeking an Area Manager, Locate to lead field teams in underground utility locating operations. You will oversee workload distribution, drive customer relations, coordinate with Corporate, and manage IT, purchasing, and field safety. You will also conduct performance reviews and guide staff toward improved results.

The role requires interaction with homeowners, the public, contractors, and utility representatives, with occasional travel and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience in the locating industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of underground utility construction and placement.
• Ability to complete Locate Technician training and testing.
• Must be available for long hours, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

The Area Manager, Locate will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Oversight of work load distribution.
• Customer relations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry.
• Excellent communications skills oral and written.
• Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement required.
• Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing.
• Requires long hours when necessary. May require weekend and holiday work when necessary.
• Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and or training.
• Must have above average computer skills.
