Job summary

OnTrac is seeking an Area Manager to oversee all sort activities within an assigned area at the Logan Township facility. You will report to the Operations Manager and lead a team to ensure safe, efficient operations and strong performance.

The role requires a minimum 2 years in logistics with leadership experience, strong data evaluation skills, and excellent communication. This is an onsite position with a schedule to fit 24/7 operations, including potential shift variations.

Qualifications

• GED or Diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in logistics, shipping, or 3PL with demonstrated leadership.
• Ability to evaluate data and present answers clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings and maintain open communication on goals and safety priorities.

Area Manager

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

Location: 701 Crossroads Boulevard, Door S, Logan Township, NJ 08085. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Shift(s): PM - Friday to Monday from 1:30pm to 12:00am (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation: The expected starting base pay range for this position is $59,840 - $92,400, with full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $59,840- $110,880. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

The Must-Haves

• GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred


• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience


• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions


• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills


• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback


• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.


• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.


• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities. Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.


• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.


• Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
