Job summary

Ruppert Landscape Co is seeking an Area Manager to oversee a portion of the branch’s landscape management work, drive renewal and enhancement sales, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will develop field supervisors, coordinate crews, and maintain branch facilities to reflect our professional image.

The role requires supervising and recruiting, with a focus on achieving high renewal rates and controlled costs. Strong English communication and driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience managing others on the production level, including recruiting, and hiring, performance evaluation, and training and development.
• Knowledge of all machinery and trucks involved in landscape management.
• Sales and customer service experience with service customers.
• Ability to take site measurements and estimate maintenance jobs.
• Experience managing production of service work and multiple projects.
• Experience selling enhancement-type work and contract maintenance takeoffs.
• Ability to design small landscape projects.
• Basic computer operation knowledge.
• Two or four-year horticultural or related degree; industry experience or certifications may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Communicate company philosophies, policies, and procedures to field managers.
• Communicate branch goals to supervised staff and monitor progress through reviews.
• Develop field managers and supervisees to meet personnel needs.
• Maintain ongoing recruitment for production personnel across the company.
• Understand hourly costs and monitor job costs; report to field managers.
• Prepare seasonal job packages for assigned jobs.
• Review contract documents, margins plans, and customer contacts for assigned jobs.
• Monitor service quality via site visits and monthly field reports; ensure renewal rate above 90%.
• Manage sales activity related to renewals of landscape management contracts.
• Schedule weekly production activities for crews.
• Monitor morning and evening crew routines.
• Maintain branch facilities and fleet to reflect corporate image.
• Prospect for leads and integrate into the branch’s prospecting system.
