Job summary

Graybar in Norfolk, VA seeks an Area Manager to develop and implement business plans, and to manage all resources to achieve branch profitability and service goals. You will lead programs, oversee budgets, and drive growth while ensuring customer and supplier relationships remain strong.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, team leadership, and effective communication. A strong background in sales, operations, or finance along with distribution industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, operations, or finance.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in the wholesale distribution industry and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of the impact pricing decisions have on profit and loss.
  • Business planning, market analysis, and the ability to think strategically about business needs.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise staff and achieve results through others.
  • Ability to effectively recruit for key branch positions and build a strong service infrastructure.

Compensation

The expected base salary for this position is starting at $105,000 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible - based on specific and relevant business metrics.

This role requires the use of your personal vehicle for business purposes. Graybar offers a Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) reimbursement program to support eligible drivers. This program allows you to choose and drive your own vehicle, rather than a company-assigned car, and your reimbursements can help you build equity in your vehicle over time. Please note that certain vehicle requirements, such as age and original MSRP, may impact your eligibility for tax-free reimbursement. More information about Graybar's FAVR reimbursement program will be shared upon hire.
