Job summary

Stake Center Locating is seeking an Area Manager Locate to oversee workload distribution, lead staff, and manage customer relations across locating operations. You will interact with CorporateIT, purchasing, homeowners, and the general public to ensure efficient service.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and experience in underground utility construction and locate practices. Travel and long hours may be involved as needed to meet project demands.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication skills (oral & written).
• Computer literate and proficient with basic software.
• Experience in underground locate operations preferred.
• Ability to perform PDR/damage investigations and locate tasks.
• Strong public interaction and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workload distribution and staff performance.
• Maintain customer relations and public contacts.
• Coordinate with CorporateIT, purchasing, homeowners, and the public.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment and manage inventory orders.
• Mentor Supervisors and lead disciplinary actions.
• Assist in damage resolution and interpret reports.
• Support difficult locate jobs and ensure adequate force load.

Job description

The Area Manager Locate will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Oversight of work load distribution
• Customer relations
• Interaction with CorporateIT and purchasing along with homeowners and the general public
• Oversight of disciplinary action
• Inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Inventory ordering
• Mentor Supervisors for performance improvement
• Assist in damage resolution when necessary
• Interpret all reports ie PDR audits and production
• Assist in difficult locate jobs when necessary
• Maintain force to load requirements
• Performance Reviews for staff

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least eighteen years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean background check for access to restricted andor controlled areas
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free
• Computer literate
• Ability to locate
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation
• Ability to interact with all involved the public customers contractors utility representatives and all those under their direction
• Excellent communication skills at all levels

REQUIREMENTS

• Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry
• Excellent communications skills oral and written
• Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement requiredSuccessfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing
• Requires long hours when necessary
• May require weekend and holiday work when necessary
• Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and or training
• Must have above average computer skills
• Three to five years experience
