Job summary

AlphaBEST Education, Inc. seeks an Area Manager based at our LaPlata, MD support office to lead a multi-site team across Charles and Prince George's counties.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, recruitment, staff development, and ensuring high-quality programming in elementary sites. You will partner with site Directors, ensure licensing compliance, manage enrollment and finances, and build community partnerships.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Education, Business Management or related field preferred; master's degree or higher a plus.
  • Experience in an elementary school setting, school administration, or school-age childcare setting strongly desired.
  • Strong organizational, communication and supervisory skills; preferably multi-site environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and sensitive to children.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit internal and external talent from diverse backgrounds. Manage onboarding and development of your team.
  • Conduct interviews and select appropriate staff members who are passionate about children and learning.
  • Build a cohesive team by providing collaborative opportunities, maintaining good working relationships, and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Articulate standards, ask questions, listen, and give timely, constructive feedback.
  • Set high performance standards for self and others; assume responsibility for completing assignments.
  • Observe, coach, train and provide feedback to staff around programming.
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of current curriculum used in sites.
  • Evaluate program quality and progress; work with Site Directors on enhancements.
  • Ensure licensing compliance at all sites according to state regulations.
  • Partner with Regional Director to develop and implement local marketing strategies.
  • Maintain financial control: enrollment, attendance, payments, deposits, delinquent accounts, and expenses.
  • Review payroll, timesheets, expense reports, leave requests and other employee actions.
  • Address parent, school, and staff concerns; develop action plans to resolve issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct site quality evaluations and surveys to identify improvement areas.
  • Direct community involvement and partnerships with organizations and leaders.

This position will be based at our Support Office in LaPlata Maryland and will require travel as necessary to sites across Charles and PG County Elementary Schools

In this exciting role, you'll have the chance to do the following:

  • Understand and maintain in-depth knowledge of current curriculum utilized in the sites.
  • Evaluate on a regular basis, program quality and progress towards programming goals. Work with Site Directors and Education Specialists on programming enhancements.
  • Ensure licensing compliance at all sites according to the state regulations.
  • Partner with the Regional Director to develop, and implement local marketing strategies.
  • Maintain a weekly and monthly financial control system to include: a review of enrollment and attendance, payments and deposits, delinquent accounts and expenses related to personnel hours along with snack and supply purchases.
  • Review, monitor and submit payroll, staff timesheets, expense reports, leave requests and other employee action forms in a timely manner.
  • Recognize parent, school, and staff concerns; develop a course of action to reassure and resolve problems appropriately.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and build positive rapport throughout the community and within the industry.
  • Conduct and administer site quality evaluations, surveys (student, parents, school administration, and staff) and other data gathering research to identify areas in need of improvement and/or to recognize sites/staff who are meeting or exceeding organizational goals.
  • Direct community involvement, seek opportunities to serve the community by building partnerships with community organizations, leaders, and businesses.
Here is what you will need:

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

50,000 Salary
