Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Specialized Field Service department as a Area Manager. As the Area Manager you will be responsible to lead and manage the operations and financials of a service area, which may include multiple profit and loss centers , locations or teams . You will be accountable for leading and directing a team of leaders (Field Service Managers and/or Field Service Supervisors) within our MN, MI, TN and KY offices.

Responsibilities
  • Execution of strategic plans for optimized productivity within the multiple departments within the area.
  • Allocate and manage resources to support competitive strategies, keep the company economically healthy, and produce high returns.
  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by optimizing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work team, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by leading and working with the sales team to develop new business relationships and serving as an operational partner to sales in generating business
  • Oversee management of day-to-day operations, assigning performance goals to leaders and assuring their completion, while accomplishing the area’s goals
  • Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
  • Oversee the maintenance of project timelines, quality, safety and profitability to ensure KPI’s are met and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans for multiple cost centers within the area.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities appropriately while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved
  • Plan, coordinate and direct business operations to ensure the achievement of company revenue goals and documentation of expenses
  • Develop, outline and implement plans and strategies to increase the profitability of company products and services
  • Develop and initiate strategies to maintain employee productivity, evaluate performance and improve the quality of products and services
  • Provide feedback and make recommendations that increase the success of marketing and sales efforts as well as the effectiveness of current strategies toward reaching target markets
  • Oversee the quality and safety activities within the area to ensure adherence to company culture and objectives
  • Schedule and lead staff meetings to discuss updates, issues, feedback and to develop solutions to issues that come up within the company's operations
  • Train, guide and mentor employees and evaluate their performance and productivity in completing their job duties
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred
  • 7+ years of ex perience in management, within the energy sector or service industry
  • Experience in management of multiple profit and loss centers
  • Above-average communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans
  • Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
  • Excellent demonstrated communication (verbal and written), people, and organizational skills
  • Experience is desirable in any of the following related areas: Protection and Control and/or apparatus testing and commissioning; SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing, Project Management or Utility Management.
