Kodiak Gas Services is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of Field Service Technicians and oversee compressor package operations in the designated area.
The role emphasizes safety, customer relations, data-driven reporting, and hands-on leadership with significant travel. A minimum of five years in natural gas compression or related field is required, with strong mechanical aptitude.

The Area Manageris a first-level management position thatsupervisesa team of Field Service Technicians and oversees theoperation of compressor packagesandequipment,including rentals,within one Area.Area Managers maintain customer relationships and work with Technicians and management to communicate, troubleshoot, and ensure the completion of safe, efficient, and economical day-to-day operations.
Support employees by being available to answer questions, prioritizetraining as needed, andleadtheAreaby example.
Communicate dailywith Lead Technicianstoreview completed tasks, review,and advisescheduled work, unitsets,andmoves, etc.
Enforce various processes to ensurePreventative Maintenance(PM)compliance.
Monitor employeehoursby ensuringdaily time entry, correct discrepanciesquickly, manageovertime, and prioritizethe safety and wellbeing of employees.
ManageWork Order (WO) submissionsdaily and verify various processes are completed by technicians to maintain inventory goals.
Analyzecriticaldata and completetimelyreports in various systemsincludingbut not limited tooperations, inventory, and finance.
Maintain positive customer relationships and provide conflict resolution efforts when necessary.
Enforce Safety compliancethroughout your team, participate in monthly Safety meetings and ensure attendance by your direct reports.
Conduct a reoccurring Operations meeting with your direct reports andnecessary superiorsto communicate new or updated processes, and review data critical to the Area’s success.
Perform additional, miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Minimum 5 years’ working experience in natural gas compression operations or a combination of OEM, trade school, or comparable work experience in a related field.
High degree ofmechanical intuitionandability.
Comprehension of OEM and miscellaneous technical manuals, literature, and programs.
Ability to configure gas compression equipment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (excel, word, outlook).
ValidDriver’sLicense, with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within the acceptable parameters of Company Policy, required.
Abilityto understand written and verbal company and supervisory communication including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, instructions, and training.
Extended or non-traditional working hours may be required.
Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand or walk on uneven terrain, climb personnel stairs and ladders, stoop, squat and/or crawl depending on the directed task.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions and environments on a location-by-location basis.
High noise environment (>85dbA) will occur with ear protection.
Potentialofcontrolledexposure to hazardous chemicals.
Requires an employee to frequently type and use computer and other office equipment such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephone, etc.
Travel is required75 – 90 percentof the time worked.
