Overview

The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team partners to maintain robotics and material handling equipment (MHE), drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, efficiency, and operational excellence across sites. As an Area Maintenance Manager, you will lead a dynamic maintenance team, develop maintenance strategies, solve complex challenges, and foster a culture that empowers technicians to perform at their best. You will blend strategic planning, hands-on problem solving, and strong team leadership while balancing preventative maintenance, operations coordination, and rapid response to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of service technicians and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures during maintenance activities across the site.
• Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards.
• Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and partner with applicable teams to address system performance issues and provide analysis across operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators and maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems.
• Experience in project management and statistical analysis.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
