Job summary

Amazon seeks an Area Maintenance Manager to lead a dynamic maintenance team focused on safety, efficiency, and operational excellence at a major facility. You will blend strategic planning with hands-on problem solving and team leadership to drive preventive maintenance and respond to emergencies.

You will coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure high-quality service, maintain MHE performance, and develop robust maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Reliability Engineering or 2+ years Amazon RME experience.
• Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong leadership, safety focus, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of service technicians and automation engineers.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during maintenance activities.
• Design and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards.
• Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues with cross-functional teams.

About the Role:

Key job responsibilities

• You will provide leadership and mentorship to a team of service technicians and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and performance

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• 2+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience
• 2+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

• Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators
• Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems
• Experience in project management
• Experience with statistical analysis
