R.E. Darling Co., Inc. is seeking an Area Maintenance Technician to lead maintenance activities across production and facilities.

The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and requires autonomy in assigned areas, with a strong emphasis on safety around hazardous chemicals and the use of a respirator. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and coordinating with management to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand company procedures.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Minimum 15 years of industrial maintenance experience, including troubleshooting mechanical systems, plumbing, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, and basic electrical systems.
• Prior experience as a Lead or Supervisor preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Coursework, certifications, or the ability to certify in HVAC (Universal), Welding, Commercial or Industrial Electrical, or Combination Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E).

Responsabilités

• Achieve daily and job-specific goals.
• Provide maintenance support to other departments.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Install or relocate equipment, including all required utilities (water, compressed air, three-phase electrical, steam, hydraulic, vacuum).
• Practice safe and efficient work habits.
• Direct senior mechanics, mechanics, and maintenance operators as needed.
• Use REDAR's CMMS platform, including tablets and other electronic devices.
