About the Role:

The Area Lead Nurse will be a dynamic and influential nurse leader within our clinics. Their responsibilities will involve guiding and inspiring support team members through developmental activities. As a partner of the clinic leadership team, they will assist in clinic performance and health, ensuring optimal patient care, medical quality standards, and operational efficiency.

This role will serve as a leader and a teacher, developing initiatives and training programs for the clinic and broader company. They will advocate for support team members' voices in leadership discussions. Above all, maintaining high-quality patient care and leading by example as nurses remains paramount.

This role involves 16 shifts per 4-week block, all in-clinic:

  • 12 shifts in the home clinic
  • 4 shifts in the assigned training clinic
Core Clinical LVT Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with anesthesia, surgical prep, monitoring, and post-op care.
  • Support medical and surgical procedures, including wound care and medication administration.
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics and maintain logs.
  • Take radiographs using a hands-free method.
  • Maintain cleanliness and scent-free environment.
  • Admit and discharge patients, ensuring they are well-groomed and alert.
  • Answer client questions related to animal care, consulting veterinarians when needed.
  • Administer medications as per veterinarian instructions, logging controlled substances appropriately.
Training Responsibilities:
  • Oversee 3 clinics, training nursing staff and maintaining medical quality metrics.
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding new nurses.
  • Support clinic launches and staff training.
  • Develop and review training materials and programs.
  • Ensure high-quality medical care through protocols, audits, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications:
