The State of South Carolina is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician II to inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles at AREA I bus maintenance shops. This hourly position involves working 40 hours a week with required skills in mechanical repairs and compliance with safety standards. Candidates must be able to lift heavy objects and obtain relevant certifications within a specific timeframe.
Area I - Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician II (Line Mechanic) - TBD
Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and repair vehicles at one of the eleven (11) AREA I bus maintenance shops. Maintain accurate records of parts and inventory, and ensure compliance with safety, weather, and environmental policies. Respond to service calls, evaluate vehicle issues, and perform repairs or report major problems to supervisors. Keep work areas organized and equipment in good condition.
Hourly position, 40 hours/week, 8 or 10-hour days, with a workday range from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Positions are located at specific AREA I bus maintenance shops and do not float between shops. Indicate your preferred shop assignments in the supplemental questions. Shops include: Aiken, Brunson, Darlington, Florence, Latta, Lee, Lexington, Marlboro, Orangeburg, Sumter, and Williamsburg counties.
