Area HR Business Partner - NE Nordstrom Stores - CT Market (Onsite)

The ideal Area Human Resources Business Partner is an influential communicator, critical thinker, and effective business partner. This role will support the Nordstrom stores in the Connecticut market.

A day in the life…

  1. Ensure the store hits its workforce planning goals by establishing a strong liaison and clear processes between the on-site recruiter, HV Recruiter, and stores.
  2. Partner with the store manager and department managers to successfully build strong selling teams that support our focus of Best Service, Best Team, and Make the Day.
  3. Be a continuous strategic business planner, influencer, and truth teller with your direct business partners (store managers, regionals, district managers, etc.).
  4. Support the messaging and priorities of your direct business partners while providing feedback and gaining trust.
  5. Balance the needs of the territory while maintaining HR competencies and priorities daily.
  6. Act as the liaison and executor of corporate HR messaging and initiatives for the territory.
  7. Support store managers in developing department managers' coaching skills to enhance manager effectiveness.
  8. Foster an environment of belonging where diverse individuals can show up as their authentic selves.
  9. Ensure the store's compliance with all employment laws.
  10. Champion a productive and positive work environment that positions us as the employer of choice.

You own this if you have…

  1. 3+ years of human resources advisory experience and/or experience in large volume department management, preferably at the Store or District Manager level.
  2. Strong business and people acumen with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  3. Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and leaders.
  4. Demonstrated ability to execute Nordstrom Leadership competencies.
  5. Ability to organize work and manage competing priorities effectively.
  6. Experience managing small to medium-sized projects of moderate complexity.
  7. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  8. Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  9. Ability to work onsite at assigned Nordstrom stores five days per week.

Location:

The selected candidate should be located within a commutable distance of Nordstrom stores 538 (Sono Collection) and 526 (Westfarms). Relocation assistance may be offered.
