This position handles all release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, ensuring timely, accurate processing and high-quality customer service. The associate must safeguard patient privacy, ensuring only authorized access and compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and requests. This role requires travel of 75% or more. It is an intermediate level position requiring at least 1 year of HIM experience. Responsibilities include training HIS I staff and reporting to management.

Qualifications:


  • Strong customer service and clerical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable in high-volume environments
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Medical office experience

Responsibilities:

  • Process patient health information requests per policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security
  • Use company and facility software
  • Follow conduct and policies
  • Report work issues and volume fluctuations
  • Assist with additional duties as needed
  • Ensure privacy regulations are followed
  • Manage patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Prepare and assemble medical records
  • Respond to record requests and transmit information
  • Handle calls and assist walk-ins
  • Support administrative tasks and scheduling
  • Train new associates and generate reports
  • Participate in projects and team initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18+ years old
  • Willing to travel regionally
  • 1-year HIM experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Production or metric-based work experience
  • In-person customer service experience
  • Ability to build relationships and suggest improvements
