Under the direction of the Area Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for maintaining records, equipment, material inventories, and facilities, along with various other support functions at the area headquarters.

Under the supervision of the Area Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for maintaining records, equipment, inventories, and facilities, and supporting functions at the area headquarters.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist the Area Maintenance Supervisor with administrative duties, including recording equipment activity transactions in the Workforce Management System.
  • Perform yard, building, and equipment maintenance, such as mowing, weed eating, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and related tasks.
  • Inventory stock and fuel supplies through visual inspections and tracking sheets.
  • Operate various types of equipment as required.
  • Occasionally load, unload, and stack bags of salt, sand, cement, chemicals, etc.
  • Answer phones, take messages, greet visitors, and assist the public.
Secondary Job Functions
  • Assist crew members in locating and loading supplies and perform preventative maintenance on Department vehicles and equipment.
Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; administrative support preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic knowledge of local streets/highways, safe operation of vehicles and heavy equipment, basic math, effective communication, multi-tasking, and reading/writing in English.

Physical Requirements: Ability to use hand tools, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Able to work in all weather conditions, with noise, dust, and fumes.

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications: Valid driver’s license; must obtain Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 180 days of hire. Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing required.

Note: "Accredited" refers to recognition by U.S. Department of Education or CHEA.
