Job summary

Imperial Brady is seeking an Area Finance Manager to partner with the Area Leader and local leadership, owning area month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting to drive financial performance.

You will lead close processes, analyze KPI dashboards (price/volume, warehouse productivity, customer profitability), model scenarios, and push automation (Power BI) for better decision-making across multiple locations in North America.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA/CPA is a plus.
  • 8+ years FP&A experience in high-growth, multi-location settings.
  • Direct experience in field FP&A preferred.
  • Strong communication and ability to present insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to model scenarios and drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage area P&L and balance sheet with alignment to strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Area Leader and branch managers to drive sales growth and margin expansion.
  • Deliver actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Lead monthly close and provide timely reporting to Corporate FP&A.
  • Analyze KPI dashboards (price/volume, warehouse productivity, profitability).
  • Identify margin improvement and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting with risk/opportunity balance.
  • Model financial scenarios for strategic initiatives and capex.
  • Leverage analytics, automation, and visualization tools (Power BI) to streamline reporting.
  • Share best practices across the finance organization and drive continuous improvement.

Description & Requirements

The Area Finance Manager will report directly to the Region Finance Director and be a key member of the regional finance team. This role will serve as the trusted financial business partner to the Area Leader. The role is expected to partner directly with the local leadership teams to improve the financial performance and advance the company’s strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for all area month-end reporting, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, financial modeling, KPI reporting, strategic initiative tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance requirements.

Role Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Strategy
  • Ongoing management of the area P&L and balance sheet, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the Area Leader and the branch managers to develop and execute strategies that drive sales growth and profit margin expansion
  • Deliver actionable insights to the branch managers that allows them to make informed decisions
Reporting & Analysis
  • Lead the month-end close process for the area, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to Corporate FP&A
  • Analyze suite of KPI’s and dashboards (e.g., price/volume, warehouse productivity, customer profitability, etc.) to drive more profitable day-to-day operations
  • Analyze financial and operational trends to identify margin improvement and cost optimization opportunities
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning
  • Lead the area annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, supported by reasonable assumptions and inclusive of a balanced set of risks and opportunities
  • Partner with the local leadership team to model financial scenarios and evaluate the expected return on strategic initiatives, capital expenditures, etc.
Automation and Continuous Improvement
  • Leverage advanced analytics, automation, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to streamline reporting and improve local decision-making
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to automate or streamline day-to-day FP&A processes; share best practices across the broader finance organization
Experience, Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or other advanced certification is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant FP&A experience; ideally in a high-growth, multi-location business in a public or private equity-backed environment
  • Direct experience in a field FP&A role is preferred
  • Strong executive presence, business acumen, strategic thinking, and presentation skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to deliver complex financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Advanced technical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, and the ability to navigate large, complex datasets
  • Hands-on, results-oriented, and comfortable navigating complexity, driving change, and meeting deadlines with urgency and sound judgment
  • Proven ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and experience operating in a large organization
